Survival Guide — Privacy Policy

Effective 8 November 2026. The app contains no analytics, ads or tracking and sends no device identifiers. App: “Survival Guide” (com.mymailfox.survival) for Android.

In short

The app has no accounts, ads, analytics or tracking. Everything you create (points, camp, tracks, point photos, checklist marks, bookmarks, settings) is stored only on your phone and is not sent anywhere. The app has no servers for your data.

Location

Your location is used for “My coordinates”, the compass, “Back to camp” and, in the full version, the map and track recording. It is processed only on the phone. If you turn on track recording with the screen off, the app receives location in the background only while recording, and Android shows a notification. Your coordinates leave the phone only when you send them yourself with “Send SMS” or “Share” through an app you choose.

Camera and photos

The camera is used as a flashlight and, in the full version, for photos of map points. Photos stay inside the app on your phone.

When the app uses the internet

• “Full guide” purchase. Payment is handled entirely by Google Play; we receive no payment data. The app only asks Google Play whether the purchase exists.
• App updates. At start the app asks Expo (EAS Update) whether a content update is available. The request contains only the platform, the app version, the update channel and the number of the installed update, which are the same for every user of that version. The app sends no device or installation identifier. This is used only to update the app, not for advertising or analytics, and is not shared with third parties. Expo's policy: expo.dev/privacy.
• Offline map downloads (full version, only when you download a region): map tiles from OpenFreeMap and elevation data from Amazon S3 (Terrain Tiles). These servers see your IP address, as any website does. No location or other data is sent.

Without internet, everything except the purchase and downloading new map regions works fully.

Children

The app is not directed at children under 13 and knowingly collects no data.

Deleting data

Uninstall the app and all its data is removed from the phone. Points and tracks can be exported to a file beforehand (full version).
